Default tricks used for getting un-stuck

i''m pretty sure this would have to have been in here somewhere but i'm not inclined to waste a bunch of time lookin' so i'll just bring it up again. whether it be mud, sand, snow, silt [my least favorite substance on the planet earth], fine gravel or, asphalt, what are some methods of getting unstuck you folks have used, preferably ones used when you're by yourself or with just one vehicle in the middle of nuthin'. using a winch is the smart *** answer so save that little cute one for another day. i mean head scratchers. how'd you get it out. long answers welcome cause it ain't easy sometimes. i have one or two but i'm always anxious to add to what i know.

snap straps are amazing for pullin ppl out the mud since you can safely get a running start at it. i heard 3" is the best size because if you go bigger the stap may be stronger but it loses elasticity and doesnt work as well. also my buddy was only a little stuck so he cut his middle seat belt out and used it to pull him out lol

Those straps rule. When you get that moving start, the power goes to the stuck truck and pops it free..

And if I'm in mud, I toss rocks and wood to grip. My buddy was in a deep mud hole and I tossed a bunch of rocks and wood and he was able to grip enough to get up speed to get out..
