Default Tires for 2.5 boss coil over kit

I purchased and will be installing the boss coil over kit and plan to set them at 2.5inches up front. I will be getting rid of my factory tires. my original plan was cooper at3 285/75/17 which runs 33.8 in diameter. I am now considering going down to 285 /70/17 and going with the cooper st maxx. The weight of the tires are about the same. I wanted the clearance but also want off road capability in mud. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I am running a 285/65r18 and wished I went bigger for looks only. Gear ratio wise a 285/70r17 would be better for you. If you worry about image and such I would go bigger. If you are more worried about money or function go with smaller.

the weight per tire has a one pound difference. The taller tire has 1/2 in of larger clearance. The other tire should be better in the mud. How is the at3 in mud?

Sorry to confuse you, I went with BFG at2, but my buddy has cooper at3 in his 07 in I think your size and they don't look nearly aggressive. They should be fine for normal driving but if you want something beefy you would have to pay more it seens.

Man, I do too much tire research myself so I can imagine your pain!
