What size was stock on your truck?

The difference between them is the deciding factor.

The easy answer is you never HAVE to regear. It's just becomes a better and better idea as the size difference increases. In general, most guys are fine going to 33s without changing gears. You'll notice a small loss in power and mpg that most find acceptable.
