Default Torsion bar level

Hey guys, I have a 2000 4x4 with the 4.6. I wanna go up to like 33s on the tires soon. The front only sits about an inch lower than the back. Could I crank the torsion bars to get that inch? How would it ride afterwards?

It will drive crappier and you will wear front end parts out if you go with aftermarket keys. Turn your torsion bars up a tiny bit, just so the truck sits level. You will clear 33's without too much loss in ride quality. Someone else will have to tell you the exact measurements to go by but avoid aftermarket keys. I spent more replacing front end parts then I would have if I had have just bought a proper suspension lift.

Yeah. I just wanted to level it a bit. Nothing drastic. As far as I know everything should clear now. Once I get the money, id like to do about a 3" suspension lift. One thing at a time. Haha.

I have a 2000 4x4 with 5.4. it has 295x70r17 or (33.5") nitto trails on it, and my t-bars are almost maxed out. Rides fine IMO. If your concerned about ride quality, im sure you could fit 33s without cranking... you might have to do some minor trimming on the lower valance... at the most. Just dont buy the leveling kit! You'll end up ripping your cv boots.

I've been running 33's with the stock keys turned up for about five years now. Yes it rides a little rougher but nothing that would be considered harsh. And I have yet, knock on wood, to have a cv or anything else on the front end that's needed replaced.

And my buddy just sent me pictures of a leveling kit that used springs and spring spacers. Are those better than turning the bars?

No and those are for the newer style trucks, not like ours.

Either way, you're changing the angles of the front end and losing suspension travel. It's going to hurt your ride and cause excess wear on your front end. If you turn your bars so your truck sits totally level with no blocks in the back however, it shouldn't be a big deal and won't cause the wear that a 2.5 or 3 inch levelling kit will. You should still be able to clear 33's no problem anyways.

For about a week, my truck had 35's with no levelling kit and just a t-bar crank till it sat level. They rubbed and what not but there's no reason it wont fit 33's. Get a 33/10.50 though not a 12.50, 12.50's will rub on the inside of your suspension because of the width.

So quick question, why is a 3 inch lift for these trucks keys and blocks? I would like to do a true suspension lift, but I don't wanna do more than 3 inches

Get a 4 inch lift with a torsion drop bracket. Then you can let the keys down to get your safe 3 inch lift.

The 4 inch will be a true suspension lift?
