Default Tire sizes NEED HELP

I am getting the rough country 2.5in leveling lift kit that they offer for $199. With that being said I am trying to figure out what is the best size tire to put on the truck that will look good and enhance that lift. Also I am wondering what guys are putting on there trucks as far as on all terrain off-road tire goes. I am thinking about goodyear duratracs but also like the Nitto trail grappler M/T but I think they are too expensive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated I am thinking about going with 295/70/r18 on the stock rim on my 2011 FX4.

Trail Grappler is a Mud terrain not an all terrain...and be prepared to do some trimming with that size tire..

I have that size level with that size tire. (Well, 17 inch vs 18 inch rim.)

While the Dura-Track is labeled a mud terrain it kind of depends on what kind of mud your terrain has. All Terrains actually mean cool looking street tires that work on a dirt road or sand and all terrain EXCEPT mud. (At least not the mud we have here.) Mud terrains actually are actually true all terrains as mud is in fact a terrain.

Enough on my rant about all terrain labeled tires.

The two tires that made my short list were the Super Swamper M-16 and the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar. Both offer good on road manners along with a true "all terrain" capability including mud.

I ended up with the SS-M16s and did a review on them below. The second post shows how the tires fit with the leveling kit on stock rims.

I had Nitto 295/70/18 on my 2013 with a 2" level and had no issues with rubbing at all.

So you didn't have to do any trimming

No trimming at all. That was with stock wheels. Offset wheels might rub though

On the 295s with stock wheels I cannot even fit my pinky finger between the A-arm and the tire but they don't rub. Be careful on your backspace on aftermarket wheels.
