a dana 44 has a 8.75" ring gear so your losing so much strength if you swap out your 9.75 depending on how dig of tires your gonna run the superduty front unit bearings hate big tires. dont worry about the bolt pattern you can get adapters made if your patterns dont match

hey man don't know if you are still doing the swap but if you are you should go over to f150online.com and talk to a guy named 4.2trimble. he has a 99 that he did a sas on. now he has about 25in.s of lift on 46in. baja claws.
