you can buy shortened shackles. i wouldnt cut and weld unless you knew what your doing because they do hold up the whole back half of the truck

Stupid question im sure but im realtivley new to the F150 world. What are the pros/cons of cranking the bars vs doing a leveling kit? Is it just a truck/year issue or are the two different ways to arrive at a similiar result? Again im sure a dumb question but im just curious.

but if you really wanted to kno

cranking the stock bars lift it 2-2.5 inches. this is as high as it was designed to go by FORD. if you get keys (which go up to 3" or more) the lower control arms hit the bump stops and this is when crap starts breakin. because everytime you hit a bump, traintrack, speedbump; the LCAs hit the bump stops and is very violent to ball joints. keys are only meant for if your have something heavy pushing the suspension back down to the stock heigth (off road bumper, heavier engine, snowplow, )

hope this explains it well and your that much more educated about f 150 trucks

Quick question, my stock shackles broke, so the only replacments i could find at the time were at a gheto auto zone and they were 1" lowering shackles. my truck sits completly level now, could i do the 3 inch block in the back still and crank my bars? or do i need to find stock shackles?

nope. doing what you said will work. 3" block and t bar lift will give you a slight prerunner/bulldogged/cali lean look. whatever you want to call it
