Question solid front axle

I have a 2000 f150 with a 6 inch suspension lift and a 3.5 body lift and I want to put a solid front axle in it but I don’t even know where to start really. I looked around and done some research but I haven’t really found anything helpful. I would appreciate some advice, thanks.

I don't know much myself, but it's going to be a real lifesaver if you're good with a welder and have some dough to spend. I say the best thing to do is check out pirate4x4.com. It's a bunch of DIYers who do all kinds of extreme stuff. The easiest way to go is probably going to be doing the SAS with a front leaf spring suspension. Good luck!

There are kits that have most of what you'll need except for the axle. Spend some time poking around Pirate, you'll find links for the kits in those threads.

Sell your lift and you have a 3" BL they don't make a 3.5"

What size tires do you want to run? I'd start looking for a ford Dana 60 and depending on the tire size, I'll go more into detail.

I have goofed with this idea, being 2wd...But I don't know how I would begin to weld new leafs in place. I dont want to really lift it... 33's or 35's are plenty big enough for me... I just want 4x4(lever on the floor), solid axle, and 33's. Advice?

Obviously I don't want to sell my truck or that's what I have done in the first place. I don't understand why people have to come in and say " its cheaper to sell and by a 4x4". The question wasn't "which is cheaper?"

I don't know of any kits personally, there use to be farm boy fab, but I think there out of it now. There very well could be. I've just been doing the custom **** for 10+ years.

35's are bare minimum I do believe, to be able to clear everything, I'd do atleast 37's it would make things 10x better. But if that be the case, you might be able to get away with a Dana44 ford, which would be much cheaper.

Soo what has a Dana 44? I'm confused at how I could swap axles and still have the same lug pattern... I'd have to swap my rear end out also since it only has 3.08 gears... I'd like to find axles with 4.11s but 3.73s will work, so with that in mind. What do you suggest?
