solid axle swap
i am planning on doing a solid axle swap in my 94 f150 from a ttb to a dana 44 out of a older bronco or f150, i am also planning on going to leaf springs instead of coil over, i know there is more work involved and i have to build alot more brackets and its alot harsher of a ride but i c leaf springs as a easier and cheaper system to get a bigger lift into down the road if need b. So i was wondering if anyone has done such a swap and am wondering if there is any do's or donts that i need to consider, any advice would b greatly appreciated.

I have been looking as well most people doing this conversion go to Bronco Graveyard for the parts. It is going to cost you upwards of $2000 dollars just for the parts. They did such a conversion on one of the "Overhaul'n" shows If memory serve me right an F100. They did it to because with a solid front axle they could lower the truck more then with it then TTB axle. They didn't show the whole job, of course, but it didn't look that difficult.

yeah. jeffs bronco graveyard is a great place for parts.
they use to make a 6, 8 and 10 inch lift solid axle conversion kits for 92 to 96 F:150 and broncos. the kit included all the brackets and hardware needed to do your sas and if you wanted you could have bought one with a complete dana 44 axle. they kit was completely bolt on with no wleding required and could have been used with both the dana 44 monobean and dana 60. sadly to say they just discontinued the kits a year ago

do these conversions work for 2wd's also? I read some where to do a conversion on a 2wd to a 4wd factory setup is a complete pain and waste of time....but you could do a solid axle swap..any of this legit?
