I had manual lock outs on my 97 ranger and they were well worth the 80 bux I spent to get them and have them installed. The original vaccum ones got me stuck twice and eventually went out all together, once I got the lock outs, no problems ever again. My ranger would go into the soupiest mud you can imagine and come out easy!! Go for the manual Lock outs.

I have alway perferred manual hubs, You have to get out to lock them in, but they will always work. The only thing you have do to every so often is the disassemble them to clean and lubricate them so they operate smoothly. Use a synthetic grease in them so they move smoothly when is gets really cold.

Have you seen a wright up on this? Or was it pretty strait forward? I just locked mine the other day and one side sure was stiff. Doesn't surprise me since I submerged that side in water for a few hours a few weeks ago.

you want the manual locking hubs because they are more reliable and easier on your front end... i had to pull my buddy's 1997 f350 out of the snow the other day because his passenger side hub wouldnt stay locked... i would suggest warns... i have them on both my f150 and toyota
