Will do. I am way up in the arctic with Santa, so not expecting them to arrive for two weeks plus a weekend to install (or attempt to install lol) .... It makes sense in my head that this will work, and it made sense to East Coast Gear Supply, will let you know how it goes.
The older gears have a smaller diameter than the 2011+ gears. They think that they can take a pre 2011 4.56 gear set and put a bearing kit on it....giving the pinion shaft the extra diameter that it needs to fit. Conceptually, it makes sense to me. He seems to think that this will be an easy solution to the problem. I'm a little wary....but this was the top suggested shop by Yukon.
Does this seem to line up with what you're saying in the old gear vs new gear? I don't exactly know what you mean by "slip yoke"....but dont try to explain it bc my level of mechanical knowledge is non existent!

I meant pinion yoke not slip yoke. The slip yoke is the tranny-driveshaft connection. The pinion yoke is the piece that the driveshaft bolts to, and then goes onto the pinion via splines on pinion. I ordered the master install kit with the gears so I have a selection of shims and bearings to try and make it work. I imagine there are differences but I am confident I can make it work. Will keep you posted. Thanks for the info from the shop that Yukon recommend! The diameter thing might pose an issue but was planning to so something similar to what they are suggesting.

And the shaft on the pinion is going to b a different diameter for sure, that's why I ordered the 08-10 pinion yoke as well (part that connects to driveshaft).

Your truck looks AWESOME! My little baby 35s just arent cutting it for me anymore. I already have 20x9 Fuel Throttles so I will probably stay with these wheels and just go with bigger tires. I used to think 35s were so big but I've outgrown them. Will keep you posted on the 4.88 swap. I just got a call yesterday saying that they were being shipped out today so probably another 10 days plus weekend to try and swap em in. Thanks for posting pics of your truck, I was having a hard time finding good pics of an F150 with a 6" lift and 37s.

I've heard you can clear 37's with a 6" BDS....but not all 6" lifts. I have a Pro Comp and I think 37's would be very tight. Please keep us all updated on the gear swap.
