Default offset

The tires have nothing to do with offset, its all in the wheels..I just ordered 18x9 wheels yesterday and the tech that I talked to at wheelsforless.com told me that a wheel with 0mm offset will stick out 5" from the mounting surface (hub) and a wheel with -18mm offset will stick out 6". Thats just the wheel, thats not counting the sidewall bulge of the tire

So if the trial grapplers are really wider, does that change anything? Looking for the 18x9, of anyone can send me a link. The rough country lift says the offset between 4.5-5. The guy above said 5" is with a 0 offset.

So either 4.5 or 5 of back spacing. What about the off set? I thought the off set determined how much the wheel stuck out
