Default Rough Country 2.5" Level Kit?

I just got my truck and looking for a good stance with bigger tires but don't want to sacrifice ride quality, EPA, or budget. I am considering the 2.5" leveling lift from Rough Country but not sure if I should go with the extra shocks in the back or not? What is the main benefit to doing this? What size tire do you recommend that will last on the road but still look good? I'm sitting on the stick chrome 18's right now.

I have a 2.5" Rough Country Leveling Spacer with 285/70/18 (34.1") Toyo Open Country M/T's. With proper rotation it's estimated to get between 50-60k out of them. It has been plenty for anything I have ever thrown at it. (Great for trail riding out to hunting grounds and those sticky situations)

Here's a couple pics of what mines looking like.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Does a leveling kit or lift kit void your warranty?

No, it doesn't. A lift may if it causes a problem and it can be proven, but I haven't heard of many dealers trying to wiggle out of warranty because of a level. It's considered a "legal modification" according to the service manager I deal with and it's all warranty.

I have the rough country as well and was on the fence about the shocks. At the end of the day I decided to pass on them because there are so many better options.

FWIW I'm also running BFG 285/65/18 on my stock 18's and I've been happy with the abuse they soak up for a street worthy A/T

backwoodsboy,
Do you have any broad-side pics of you rig? How far did this leveling throw your pick-up out of alignment?
(I hope this sticks to the OPs line of questions and I am not high jacking...)

(Back when I had the bull bar and BFG ATs

My front sits 1/4" lower than the back, but that's fine with me and it's way better than that stock rake.

As for the alignment, It didn't really mess up my alignment at all, I got new tires about a month and a half after I put the kit on, so any minor defect would have been fixed.

backwoodsboy,
Pics look good...
Did you have to use wheel spacers to fit you new Toyo tires so they will not rub at full turn? Or do 34" tires fit stock wheel offset/backspacing with out wheel spacers?
