I just picked up a 4" Recovery strap about an hour ago. haha Figured I'll get stuck sometime this winter.

i got got mine out of the garage and put it in the box... for on road purposes.. cant seem to keep my truck running..

Ship rope all the way......gives a bungee effect.

didn't read the previous posts but it helps to put big *** clevis hooks on at least one end. and although it's hard to deal with and store, that big ship nylon rope works great. most of the good stuff can't be be braided though and if you get stuck, don't let amatuers tie off the rope cause chances are, you'll end up having to cut it to get it off if the proper knot isn't used.
