Default Rear end issues or normal?

I have a 2002 F150 XLT FX4 5.4L V8 3.55 gears Limited slip its got 230xxx so i know everything is worn and sloppy and found its grooves i mean the thing cant even light up the tires and threr BFG rugged trails (allterains) with 70xxx on them there pretty low but in the rain when i try to "drift" corners it only "locks posi" going aroind left corners on right corners i think its just the LR tire spinning and it looks dumb insted of a cool drift i was under the impression that the driving force was applied to the wheel with the least amount of resistance witch should mean that no matter the direction it should lock posi right? are my clutches bad? do i need a gearlube change? any help appreciated FYI if it makes any difference in the snow it locks posi easy obviously because aldish tires on snow but none the less left right straight its posi

I am no expert there is clutch is in the rear end have you taken the rear end cover off yet to check for some parts or metal shavings check your back lash if you do not see anything or hear anything replace place with high quality since synthetic oil with clutch treatment if I am wrong I apologize now

I'm pretty sure when you turn with the ls rear end the clutch basically turns one of the tires off so only 1 pushes around corners

If you have good breaks out back it's hard to light up the tires, something else to think of. Gear wear isn't going to play a huge difference on you spinning your tires, that'll be dependant on your breaks, your tires, your gear ratio and a few other minor things. My mild 4.6 has no problem lighting up 35's with 3.55's but I have drum breaks out back.

there is a lot of misinformation about LSD in this thread. With a limited slip the clutches in the unit are supposed to allow some of the traction to go to the inside tire. An LSD doesn't "lock" or "unlock".

With those kind of miles you are ready for new clutch plates.

If your mechanic puts in the carbon-fiber ones they'll hold up for a lot of miles.

If it doesn't put dual tracks out back it is bad.

Ok but why the left and right problem like montanaman said with these miles i figured i needed clutches but even if i change them will i still have that problem and waboom... just as i understand it when the drive wheel starts so slip the diff should supply power to the other side no? maybe its not "Locking" but it "goes posi" only when turing left so least resistance is on right rear tire
