I'm pretty sure all f150 come from the factory with dana 44 fronts and 8.8 rears. Axle size is going to depend greatly on tire size. If you do switch them out I'd go with one ton's and call it a day.

They do make a 5 ton but the 2.5 axles have been used for years on rock crawlers. A friend of mine built a wide-base TJ with the Rockwell 2.5's and a 502. Massive beast. I couldn't imagine ever needing the 5 ton axles, unless they were under a 5 ton truck...

i doubt you would even be able to find 5 ton parts. theres bunches of custom truck shops that specialize in 1 ton and 2.5 ton builds.

or if you just want a little bigger axles, pull the ones out of an old dodge. the fronts a chrystler dana or somethin and the rears a 9" i think. i dunno either one, those were guesses

ya if i was going to use tires bigger then 35's i would go find an old one ton dodge and take the dana 60 front and depending on the truck dana 60 or 70 rear
