Power steering assist fault

Power steering assist fault
I have another post here detailing the problem:
https://www.f150forum.com/f38/power-...-fault-350023/
But I wanted to know if any of you off road guys had any possible aftermarket solutions. Basically the electric assist or whatever the F it is on my power steering went out. My suspension has been pretty well modified from stock so I don't even know if Ford will work on it. It doesn't look too difficult to replace the steering rack, but the manual is telling me that it has to be programmed by ford?
Does this just mean clear codes or?

Check out one of the 4 wheelin magazines. They built a 2011 for offroad and went to hydraulic assisted steering via a 2 way cylinder and a driven pump I believe.
Might be worth looking into if you're super serious off road.
Or wait until the new Racks come out for the Raptor for 2017 model. These will have to be beefed up versions of the EPAS or will have the option for hydraulic steering and a pump who knows.
