point me in the right direction
hi all,
didnt get much help in the introduction thread i posted so i figured id bring my questions here.
bought this 06 f150 fx4 a few weeks ago and im not much of a stocker, so im already weighing out my options. not looking for an offroad machine as i have a built jeep that does what i need off road. i do however, like tough looking trucks, so id like to get something going. this thing will also likely be towing my jeep every now and then so i cant have it be to crazy.
this being a 10yr old truck im sure most things have been tired and found out some true. looking to learn form others mistakes. i know all there is to know when it comes to jeeps but not much about getting these things lifted.
so im browsing online and finding 4in lifts are crazy expensive. im finding 3in lifts to be ok in price. not really sure what a leveling kit really is. and what a 2in lift does. not sure what size tire to go with but im thinking 35s
so looking for advice and pictures with specs. right now in my head im thinking this 3in http://www.4wheelparts.com/Suspensio...pn=SKYF4301K-H with some 35s on the stock 18in wheels.
lets me know your thoughts. heres a couple pics of the truck

Check in the 04-08 Thread for more Ideas https://www.f150forum.com/f4/
A level is good upfront, I wouldn't go mcuh past a 2.25-2.5" level block or coil over setup, keeps the ball joints and CVs at ok angles, I would also recommend an 1.5-2.5" AAL in the rear. There are no lift kits lower than 4" for these vehicles, what you see for 3" and less is essentially a level kit upfront and a block or aal kit for the rear.
You can fit some 35x12.5s on stock wheels, there is a thread called wheel and tire fitment guide that is stuck at the top of the 04-08 section filled with every bodies tire, wheel and lift combo, and if they had any trimming. Check it out, make sure you are bored it is long.
