Default offroading engine bay clean

Alright so I know after most adventures off road, sometimes it requires a bit of cleanup. I pressure wash the outside and underneath with utmost care. However, my engine bay is atrocious, what is the best and safest way to clean the engine compartment with destroying connectors, ect.I know ive heard of plastic bag over the alternator, among other things? Any thoughts?

simple green and a pressure washer done. Just dont spray directly onto the MAF, or the fuse box and you will be just fine. Remember they are deisngned to get a little wet just would spray directly on to them cover with a rag and your all good.

Works wonders with my ecoboost.

This - I used to let the engine cool down, soak with simple green then use a pressure washer on a low setting. Super fast and effective without drowning the electronics.

Here are a couple of polite don'ts;
1. Don't use the the windshield station at the convience store-nobody else can use the cleaner after you're done.
2. Don't use the their water hose to clean your truck.
3. Don't leave a big mess at the car wash-clean your stall out before you leave.
Common courtesy go along way.

Also just another question, after washing should I wait until the engine is dry before starting the truck back up?

Running it is just going to dry it faster so it really doesn't matter

I would let it dry first in case you got anything a little wet that shouldn't be

You might get a little noise out of your belt but that will go away as it dries out.
