Default Offroading and airing down with TPMS

After having larger tires installed I have a few questions about TPMS. When airing down, is there more risk to the tpms sensor itself inside the wheel? I've heard of people crushing them but didn't know if that was just a fluke or what. I'm not planning on jumping or anything just some trails/desert stuff.

I air down. I've never had any problems. I find it humorous that someone, somewhere will have the oddest things happen to them. And then it becomes a "big problem for everybody".

I wouldn't go below about 15psi though, unless you have bead-lock wheels.

Enjoy desert-ing!
