Offroad in 2wd...
Okay so I'm still kind of new to the offroading thing. There is still ALOT I am learning about lockers, differentials, axles, LSD's, etc, IFS,gears etc. and how they work. If anyone would love to help me learn more and what I can do with my 2wd to make it better in mainly just mud and some trails I would appreciate your help. You can hit me up on aim if you want.

Heres a little to get you started-
Limited slip diffs- Locks power to other wheel only when slippage is detected, not as effective but better in DD
Lockers- Fully locks power to both wheels, keeping you from wasting power on the "one wheel peel" or getting stuck in mud, snow, etc....
If any of this seems wrong, please correct me, i don't want to pass along bad info, lol

Well don't look at me to correct you haha. But I read a little information about it this morning and I think you are right. So basically lockers would be a better option?

For some serious offroading, i would say yes locker are the best bet, and when it comes to gears what kind/ratio depends on what size wheel/tire combo you plan on going with.

A locker or limited-slip is going to be a must. Just keep in mind that you are going to be fairly limited as far as what you can do and where you can go off-road with a 4x2.
You can definetly have some fun, but there will be places where the 4x4s can go that your 4x2 just wont have enough traction to go.
This is just my personal opinion, but if you are serious about modding your truck for off-roading, Id suggest trading it in on a 4x4.

yeah but if i go 4x4 im going to get a tacoma....there is one for sale that i really want but dont have a job right now and i can only get about 3000 for my truck. So was thinking of just doing a few things to it for now until I can get a 4wd. Rather get a motorcycle first anyway.
