Need Help with 2.5 Level Kit, tires and wheels
I have a 2005 Ford F-150 4x4 5.4 liter. I am currently running 285/70R17 tires.
I am installing a 2.5 Hell Bent Steel 2004-2008 2.5" Ford F-150 Leveling Kit. In addition to this I am also getting new tires and aftermarket wheels (CRANK XD Series 17x9).
I want to get a larger tire with the 2.5 level kit. The Hell Bent website says "Installing our Ford F-150 leveling kit will give your truck the lift it needs to allow up to 35" tires".
Now to my question that hopefully you all can help me out on. I have heard several different opinions on tire sizes. I am okay with a little rub, but not really wanting to trim anything. I have been told by 2 different tires stores that I can run 315/70R17 and 35x12.50R17. I went to my local 4Wheel Parts store here in Denver and they told me that with aftermarket wheels, the biggest I can go is 285/65-18 with an 18x9 wheel. I run 285's now stock, without the level kit, so that's why I am a little confused. The reason why I want the level kit is to get a bigger tire. Can anyone weigh in? Do the aftermarket wheels mean I cant get the larger tire? Maybe those larger tires can only be ran with my stock 17 inch wheels? I would especially be interested in in hearing from anyone who has a 2005 like mine with 2.5 level kit, and find out what tires they are running with aftermarket wheels.
Thanks!

I just put 295 60 r20 trail grapplers with a 2.5" auto spring front and 3" block i the rear stock rims. I rub a little at full lock and the tire is very close to the trim. Overall wheel hight is about 33.5"
