best pre 200 truck to go mudding with? a 150 or a ranger 4x4 better?

I think a ranger would be a cheaper truck to go with which would leave you with lots of room to jack that thing up and throw some 50s on it? Plus if you go through trail mud it's a little narrower to fit through nicer.
