Default New Setup

Getting my Brenthal Industries Long Travel race kit install finished up. Will be running King 3.0 Coilover and 3.0 tripple bypass up front.

I also wanted to run 3.0's up front but its going to be tight since my front suspension is getting pushed up 3". Going to look bad ***!

You can save money by getting the parts individually, IMO. Don't bother with the stock raptor tie rods or UCAs, if you are going to do the work go ahead and get a stronger tie rod and a UNI UCA. Adds a little droop travel and lots of strength.

As far as the rear - it's all the same, even though the Raptor Diff is wider, all the mounting points are the same (the raptor lower shock mount is from an f350 but mounts the same as non raptors). All the in-bed accessories for Raptors (bed cage, chase cage, light bars, etc...) will bolt in to a non-raptor, the bed bolts are in the same spot (as long as you have a 5.5ft bed).

get a multi-leaf spring pack, a bump stop kit and a set of bypass shocks and call the rear done - much performance past that and you are talking about speeds that require a cage.
Awesome !! That's a price I can work with. I am doing the work myself so I'll get the aftermarket parts for a raptor then.

Looks good! Just got a HM Racing Design 97-03 4x4 LT Kit installed, when they strapped it at 14.75", pictures on my build page link below. Its running 2.5" King Coil-overs and Bypasses, and that is all there is room for. I looked at the Baja Kits, but they didn't offer a kit for my 2001 4x4, or I might have gone with them.

Quick question for anyone who has done a raptor front end conversion.

I understand that the front axel spline count is different so I can't just bolt everything up to my 04. Theoretically, could I buy 9-13 hubs and put them on my 04-08 spindles and have factory raptor axels work with the new hubs? I wouldn't mind 2 wd but I'm in the Midwest so 4 wd is a luxury I'm not giving up during winter.

I understand I will need extended brake lines too. How about extended vacuum lines?

Also, for tie rods, Will a aftermarket raptor replacement work for my application?
I may have a lead on a full front suspension set that I can get for cheap.

Your front diff is only 28 spline. All you need to do is get longer 28 spline axle shafts.

Extended brake lines, extended vacuum lines not needed.

If you change your front suspension to Raptor spec you will need Raptor spec tie rods - aftermarket or otherwise.

Read this thread from the beginning.

I read the thread. Didn't see much on 04-08 conversions. After some more looking around it seems like the raptor front axel attaches to the front diff in a different way than the 04-08 does. I pushed my truck to it's limit at silver lake a couple weeks ago. I decided I needed more suspension travel after I stuck it into a whoop on a trail in Baldwin. I was running with Raptors and a long travel ranger. If you have ever seen any of the trail pictures the general lee raptor guy posts on the raptor forum Facebook group, that should give you a good idea of what I was doing. I was running with him on the 25th.

Who makes extended axel shafts besides RCV?

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it!

04-08 / 09-14 conversions are essentially the same save for the spline difference in the front.

You'll use your inner and outer joints, you just replace the shaft. Any machine shop that does axles / driveshafts should be able to make them for you.

Completey upgraded my front suspension. I'm now running a King 3.0 Coilover up front with compression adjusters and our New Upper and Lower arms! 3" wider per side and 12" of travel.

COOL! but you couldn't find a better/safer place for the reservoirs? They look a little vulnerable where they're located, maybe put them behind the bumper brace tube. Just sayin'
