Default Which locker is right for my truck?

how do i know what spline count is right for my truck? ive seen 28 spline, 31 spline, and 33 spline on www.jawsgear.com. i've got a 2004 4.6 2wd with 3.55 gears, i really want to lock the rear end so i can have true 2wd, but im having trouble figuring out which one is right for my truck
im looking at these two (price is right) but dont know if they're right:

Have you tried looking at the tag on your dif and google searhing it? Usually you can find out how many spline axle you have off oem info sites

Since you have the same model and year as me as well as 2wd then you should have an 8.8 with a 31 spline rear end. I put an Auburn limited slip in mine and I would recommend that if you wanted a limited slip but locker wise you could look at Eaton or Detroit.

Yea they are mad expensive. I have no problems with the Auburn. Both tires spin all the time and I have been buried up to my bed in mud. I got my Auburn off ebay too for $400

you have an 8.8 31 spline with the 4.6L. I would use a Detroit Tru-trac for the application, its a gear driven lsd. Not a clutch lsd like the auburn

The Auburn differentials are cone type not clutch type.
