What kind of mileage did you get with those gears?

I got about 12 city and maybe 13-15 hwy I'd guess. It was usually about 14mpg a tank, hand calculated. It's been a while so that's my best guess and since I only used it on the weekends mainly, gas didn't bother me.

Gears shouldn't hurt MPG too much. It all depends if you can keep your right foot out of the skinny pedal. With the lower gears, it takes less for the engine to multiply the torque and to get you moving quicker and with less strain, therefore it should nudge you out a bit of MPG, but once your flooring it everywhere, the MPG you've gained is now negated. Lol. So, thats one thing to think of. Also, keep in mind, I had a tuner, headers, intake, throttle body spacer, and a 3" mandrel bent exhaust. With smaller tires you could be able to get close to what you got stock with a re-gear. Again, I say close. Not exactly. Before my gears were re-done I had 3.55's as well and yes, you feel those tires there. Not terribly bad with 33's, but definitely noticeable with 35's. I gained about 1-1.5 MPG's, regeared but gained a million smiles every time I drive it. Especially in the high end, with the headers and gears, running the highway at 70mph, spinning about 1900 rpm with plenty of room to go!

Tuners are well worth it! I had a Hypertech which was OK for the time. But there's tons of great companies that do tunes now.
