Default Lift or Leveling Kit?

I am finally looking at hooking my 2010 FX4 Screw with the Moto metal 951/962/or 964 rims and probably Nitto Grapplers or Toyos (not sure size yet...just a solid look and functional size, nothing obnoxious). A local shop said I could get a 2" leveling kit installed for $525 versus a full on 4-6" lift kit. My biggest concern is I do not want form over function. I want my truck to ride as smooth as it does now bc I do make long road trips from time to time. So my question, level kit or lift kit? Thanks for your all's advice.

I was concerned about that. $525 was quoted to me from RimzOne, a local store that specializes in wheels and tires, particularly trucks. However, I've got another shop that does everything that I think would give me a better deal, only they do not necessarily "specialize" in lift kits and such.

TechRep, I see you have a leveling kit too. How is your ride?

Wouldn't pay $525 unless it covered the alignment and mounting and balancing of new tires. You could do it yourself and only pay about $100 for an alignment..

I will check with my other shop to see what they can do it for. So a lift kit is not necessary?

Whoa! A simple level kit should not be anywhere near that much. However, if it is something like the Rancho quickLIFT, it could be pretty close.

You can see our whole range of Level kits in the link below:

Shoot me a PM, Ill make sure you get the best deal available on any level or lift kit!

Also, just about every entry level kit uses your factory spring and strut, its basically just a spacer, so ride quality will be pretty much identical, just 2" higher. You can also go with a dampening adjustable setup like the Rancho quickLIFT. This allows you to fine tune your ride stiffness to your preference. The next step up from that is the Bilstein setup, which comes pre-valved perfectly for your specific truck.

Utilizes FACTORY suspension, does not alter factory ride quality.
2" ReadyLift Level Kit.

Adjustable Dampening on the Rancho quickLIFT allows you to fine tune the shock to your desires ride stiffness.

A set of Bilstein 5100's for 200 + install at around 100. Not only will you level the truck, you will improve the ride and handling.
