Default Lift Kit Question - 2012 F150

I have a 2012 F150 XLT 2WD. My tires are 295/70/18. See pic below. I already have a leveling kit on the front- I believe it's 1.5".

My question is this...I want to lift the entire truck 2 or 3in. What would be the best way to go about doing this? Any recommended products?

i would go with a 4" bds lift kit, its much safer than a 3" body lift or anything else for a small lift

Sorry to high jack the thread but im in the same boat. Shredderboy, if I were to go with a 4" lift then go with 35's, would or should I re-gear my truck?? Its currently at 3.55.

i, personally would re gear. although it is not necessary, better safe than sorry. one of my friends told me a formula to find out the best gear size to re-gear to. basically what you need to do is divide the desired tire size by the stock tire size [35/32(what size most stock f150 tires are)] X stock gear size (3.55 in your case).

Well, I contacted a local off road store, and the total damage for a 4" BDS lift, 35's with rims, and the re-gear for $7k. Im new to lifting trucks and off roading, but it seems extremely expensive. OP, did you find any other alternative to getting a small lift?

You don't need to regear with the 3.55 rear unless you are going 37's or bigger. Myself, as well as plenty other members are lifted on 35's, with no regear. If you wanna gain some performance back, throw a tuner on it. What motor are you running?

I have a 2010 5.4. The salesman said that because I tow a lot, it would be best to re-gear to 4.10. Since I really dont know better, I simply thought it was the correct thing to do.

Yeah, if you're towing you're going to want 4.56's for sure.

In Canada, good tires are about $2000, wheels are like $1500. The lift should run you about $1500 plus the gears are $300 and probably another $500 in labour. Depends what they do for labour to put your lift in but 7k is awfully high IMO.

I recommend with the Cadburg or Baja Kits front 4" spindle and leave your leveling kit on there with it.

2-3" block in the back and it will look great.

I just lifted my 2014 f150 added a tuner. I pulled our 4 horse trailer with all four horses. It pulled just fine. To be honest it might have pulled better then beforeni lifted it. I lifted it 6" and run 20x12 wheels with toyo mt 35/12.5/20 I have 5.0 with 355 gears. I dont think I will be changing my gears. Just my thoughts.
