Default Lift install question

So for those who have installed a 4" lift can you tell me about the part where you notch your front and rear crossmember mount? Is this a must and why? I'm not to pumped on cutting it and cutting it in the wrong spot. Does the kit come with a template? Preferable going rxc if this helps

Cutting the cross members allows the new drop brackets to fit and be bolted in, and yes they come with templates (well at least they should). Almost every lift company offers their installation instructions on their website with pictures, take a look at it on there to better see why you have to cut your cross members.

I have the 6" RCX on my truck.. Instruction were good, ( make sure you read them all. Don't just skim thru looking at pics, lol). And yes the templates were included. It's easy to line them up and mark them. Have a friend with you to help. Take your time, measure twice, cut once... Go for it!
