I always thought that my Kings with about 14-16" of travel where more stiff then I thought they should be (but that probably saved my truck when i jumped it). I really want to set up one of those things where you go out with the guys from king and they ride along with you and adjust your springs and preload and get it tuned specifically for the way you drive.

You said your going to be in SoCal right? King puts on days where they adjust your shocks for free all the time but if it isn't the time your out here I'm sure you can call them and set something up.

To be fair you have almost tripple the travel of a stock truck with massive rubber, if you were set up soft you would be three wheeling around corners like a 64 imapla in snoop and dre video from 94.i dont know about your wife but mine would roll my truck cornering like that lol

@ Buster096 Ya I think me and a few guys from dirt freeks want to do it out in Vegas some time with King. I will be on a super tight schedule when I get down to SD. So I probably wont have time for that. But now that I will be state side for good it is something that will happen.

@ t.mackenzie Lucky I am single

Do you know if you're actually using all of the travel and nailing the bump stops on larger hits? You can soften things up a bit if you aren't burning through your full travel, but if you are, I think the only solution to soften up the smaller whoops would be to run thinner shims for the initial opening and a maybe a rate plate to keep it from bottoming out on the larger hits (more progressive). Maybe some others can chime in on this?

I am unaware. But that is all the more reason why I would like to take king up on there thing where they ride with you and help get your ride tuned to fit my style of driving. I figure they will be able to tell me and help me set up my preload, rebound, change out my springs to different weights and just do all that so that I can maximize that 14-16" of travel. I do think that the best part about King is how the company stands behind there product. Its so nice that these guys are more then willing to deal with my stupid questions and are just so smart about what they do.

So bottom line would u recommend these to the daily street driver who sees gravel and the woods 3 times a month? Also what size tires do u have to get your measurements? Thanks

Here's the rub: I was told by King that they have adjusted the valving in the coilovers and shocks since they came out with the OEM Performance Series. Even my rears are slightly different on the external resi from what they currently sell.

I will say this, they are most definitely not mushy like the stock shocks. I just think the valving is a bit too tight for street. The rear of the truck I don't think will truly be where I want it to be until I get my hands on a set of Deavers/Alcans/Nationals.

I'm running BFG AT 285/70/17's right now, but I'll be stepping up to 35's when the time/money is right.

I think if you are picking up a set of these and you are driving them mostly on the street, I would call King direct and talk with them about getting them valved specifically for what you want. That's the real beauty of these. They are easily changeable.

For mostly street guys, it's the sweetest leveling kit you can buy haha. Women will flock like the salmon of Capastrano and lesser men will be in perpetual envy.
