Default King Coilovers w/ compression adjusters

Hey fellas. I've been poking around quite a bit for some feedback on the King goodies, but there just doesn't seem to be many guys running them vs Fox or Icon.

There's a guy selling a full set of King's near me on craigslist that have the remote reservoirs and the additional external compression adjusters. They've also been re-worked specifically for Colorado altitude/climate. Brand new this set can be had for about $2700. He wants $1900. It won't take much convincing to talk me into it, but I'd still like to hear some legit feedback. I'd expect the ride quality (both on and off road) to be substantially better. My Eco Screw bounces around like crazy on the highway and the bump compliance off road isn't exactly noteworthy either.

I know they will perform in the dirt, but what are the highway manners like and would it be more beneficial to run something other than the Kings? Thanks!

J

I really like the way the Kings ride, have never owned them but have been in a few trucks with them installed. Personally I like Fox

Appreciate the feedback. Since there hasn't been anyone else to chime in and there is a general lack of feedback for the OEM swap kit, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the set. I will post up install pics and feedback once I get the kit installed. I also picked up a used set of Pro Comp 7005's in 17x9 with BFG's on there as well to finish off the ride. Very excited to get it all slapped together!

Im am running all KING parts on my truck 2.5 in the front 3.0 in the rear. I love them but I need to get them tuned by king to really dial them in. They work great on the road but what I use them for is going fast off road. I think I just need some softer springs.

Damn dude that's a killer setup! Just a tad overkill for my usage though haha.

I was able to install the rear shocks in about 15 mins while I was swapping wheels/tires out. My hopes were that making this upgrade would help a bit with the bed bouncing around unloaded but so far it doesn't seem to be making a big difference. I'll reserve judgement until I get the coilovers installed (hopefully this afternoon) and get the compression settings adjusted.

I have been told it helps to add weight as far back on the truck as possible. This should help some of the bucking.

Looks real nice. And expensive. How much did all the suspension upgrades cost if you don't mind me asking?

I'm getting the same impression from most of the forum searching, but it doesn't seem like anyone's come up with a solution other than throwing some sandbags or whatever else you can get in the back.

I think I've decided on getting a custom set of leaf springs like Alcan or National. It would seem that's the golden ticket I've been looking for to really make this thing a pleasure to drive. I'm leaning towards Alcan because it appears you get similar results to the Nationals, but about half the price of what RPG is asking for a set.

I'll post some pictures of the King's here as soon as I get around to taking some.

Pat, who did you get your rear leafs from?
