Jeep Wrangler vs F-150
#11
traded a 2008 jeep, for F150 4x4 couldn't be happier, comfort, quiet and the security, big compared to a jeep. that being said, jeeps are still a lot of fun. comes down to personal preference.

If you're leaning towards more offroad get a jeep, if you're leaning slightly towards more on-road get an f150. If you want a mix of both, get a straight axle f250 and a decent set of tires and never look back.

I owned a 2000 TJ Sport in the past and I will say it was easily the most fun vehicle offroad (and the most capable) I've driven/owned. Sold it to my buddy and he still has it (and won't sell it back to me haha).
My F150 is just a different beast. It's plenty capable, but I'm not going to try and fool myself into thinking I could've made it up the same trails as the jeep.
The jeep however, had no room inside, noisy, cold in the winter, couldn't tow worth a damn, etc, etc.
Want the best of both worlds? Tow a trail rig TJ with your nice F150. BAM!

I had a 2014 jeep wrangler unlimited that I just traded in yesterday with 2200 miles . If you are driving 600 miles a week I will tell yo u right now that you would hate it. It's a rough ride and if you lift it and put bigger tired on it you will be all over the road. I just went back to an F150 after being out of one for a year. It's the best decision I made. The worst was getting into a jeep. 2 door keeps are even a worse ride. Just my opinion though. Here is what I had

Yep I will echo what others are saying - I had a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (4-door) that I bought 2 years ago. I lifted it and put 35" tires on it and it was FUN! I had the one with the half doors and soft top and ran with the top/doors off from April to October. Sold it after using it for 2 years for what I had in it - never done that with a vehicle EVER!
However, the down side is that is rode like crap and was noisy as hell with the top on or off. Towing was a joke and I was constantly shifting when towing the Jet Skis or the dirt bikes. No secure place to lock stuff up when we went dirt bike riding or jet skiing. Also if I needed to haul stuff, I was very limited on space.
I bought the F150 for the ride and towing capabilities. I don't off road that much as I can't see destroying a $30K vehicle on the trails so I am happy with the F150 and its creature comforts. I will miss the Jeep in the spring and fall however when "top down" cruising was awesome!

My opinon, get both!
For use as a real off road vehicle, the Jeep is #1 in all regards. For comfort and diaily driving the F150 takes top honors. There is no way I would wheel a 5,000lb IFS oversived moster. On the same token I would never what to DD my Jeep. Its brash, underpowered and uncomfortable for extended periods, plus its a PITA to get in and out of. I use the 150 to tow my Jeep, unload it and hit the rocks.

I'm in the same boat as Willard. I have both. The Jeep is comfortable to drive off road all day long , but not something I enjoy at highway speeds for long drives. Tow the jeep wherever I want to go, unload and play, load back up and head out.
I love my Jeep, but the truck is so damn comfortable to drive. The a/c seats don't hurt either...

Yep jeeps are outdated off-road vehicles. Most owners like the idea of having a jeep and rarely use it as a jeep. But the sacrifices to ride in a jeep are steep. Unless you need to drive through a nimble trail, they are pointless.
But they do look cool. Lol
