Default How will a change in tires help my 2WD?

I own a 2010 f150 STX 2WD. I use it for daily driving and work occasionally. When i use it for work i drive off road a little down these dirt roads where i live (sometimes i take it for fun ). Anyways, there are a few places where the sand is thick and it struggles quite a bit to get through, especially after it rains and it gets muddy. I have 18" rims. I've never done any kind of mods for off roading since i have a 2WD. Do yall think some all terrain tires will make a big difference? Any suggestions on a reasonably priced tire that performs well based on your experience? I dont want anything thats overly huge. Also, is it possible to add rear locking differential to my truck and if so is it worth the $$$$. Thanks guys! I appreciate any ideas!

For a 2wd a locker would make the most difference! I used to have a 2wd but now that I have my 4x4 I'd never own another 2wd lol

Get an A/T tire. Don't listen to these guys, M/Ts dig into sand like no other!

I'm running Goodyear Wrangler Authorities, but they don't come in your size. Check out Duratracs maybe?
