Wow!!! What kind of IDIOT hooks a strap on the axle?!?!?! A Jeep, or any truck for that matter, should never be in that situation without proper tow points. And on a uni-body Cherokee like that, it would have been a reciever mounted shackle.

He didn't hook up to the axel if he had the axel would have. Been pulled forward and out. He was hooked to the front clip and the axel was hung up in the hole. A shovel would have gone a long way lol.

The right front tire was in a hole the jeep moved but the axel was left behind

Do you have any idea the amount of pressure mud can exert on something that is stuck in it..? That tire was buried, and yanking on the tow points of that jeep caused the axle to break off. Furthermore, if they were hooked up to the axle, when it broke off like that it would have been just pulled out from under the jeep and most likely not have brought the jeep along.

EDIT: +1 on the shovel

Yes I do. That's why you pull from the direction you have already been. A shovel and a Hi-Lift jack would have saved that Jeep. Like I said before a Jeep with no tow points, open diffs, 30" all terrains, and a bad driver should have never been in that spot to start with.

Regardless of where the strap was hooked, it was wrong, and very unsafe.

I've been it that type of mud and it is pretty bad, sometimes it's almost like a grease. You have to wait for it to dry and then get it off of you. I guess the guys got a little impatient and wanted the jeep out fast or they didn't think something like that could happen. The biggest thing I got out of the video was the awsome power of a power stroke.
