Default Help i have a bent wheel and planing on switching wheels.

As i suspected i have a bent rim on my 2005 ext cab. Im currently runing 24s and i hit a huge pot hole that bent my wheel and is slightly more oval than round. Lesson learned with huge wheels and now i want to switch wheels and tires but need some help since ive always had low profile tires and big wheels. I want to run some 18 inch fuel wheels but i dont know what tire i can still run with out stressing my engine. I have a 4.6 engine which pushes the 24s prety good but i dont know how it will push bigger tires. I dont want to lift the truck a whole bunch since its a 2wd but i do want something that i can drive over holes without problems. I like the prerunner look but dont want to stress the engine please help me put something together. The truck is at stock height and would like to keep it at the height it sits with the 24s if not a little bigger but not lift it a great amount unless necesary.

275/65/18 would be stock. That size would be fine.

You could also do a 285/60/18 if you want something a little wider.

I run 35x12.5 with my 4.6 and to be honest its just as slow as its always been. What axle ratio is in your truck? that makes more of a difference than any.

My truck has the 3.55 gear ratio and with the 24s it runns great idk how much different it would be with big tires and smaller rims

Probably a little better because I bet the wheel + tire combo weight would be lighter for the small wheels big tire. If your talking about going to the stock P-Metric size that is.

Contact a local body shop, they should direct you to where they get wheels fixed.
The local guy here does it for about $100 a wheel, but has a 2 week backlog.

I've never heard of anyone fixing a bent aluminum rim. How do they do it?

I've taken the dog bone to plenty of steel rims and bent them back into place but if you try that on an aluminum rim it's just going to break a chunk off.
