hella vs kc
well i wanna get some off road lights and as cheap as i am i think it will be worth buying a good set of lights, so....
im looking at hella 550 driving lamps to put in the factory holes in the bumper
http://www.myhellalights.com/halogen..._Lamp_Kit.html
or
kc 35 series wide beams to put in the same place
http://www.kchilites.com/Wide-Beam-D...5-P809C30.aspx
the prices on the two are pretty close, i basically want them for lighting up the trail a little more without going completely overboard with lights, anybody have any opinions or anyone have these on their truck?

I put the Hella 500FF's on mine, now know there a little different, but i would reckon the light it gives would be similar and it does just what your talking about, its nothing like my buddies 100 watt lights that will light the world but its enough to brighten up a good ways up past where your stock lights fall short. There exactly what i needed being i don't really do any "off-roading" being i'm 2wd and just don't have time. I'm personally a Hella guy so i'd suggest those over the KC, just my opinion

we were fishing last week at one of the local spots and didn't leave till after dark and even with the brights on the trail out of the woods was a little dark, r your lights 55 watts then?

Yea they are. the cheapest 100 watts i could find were like $65 a piece but my hellas came with everything 2 lights, wire kit, relay, switch and covers for the lights for $70 and you get a name brand. The 100's were some off brand, KC's and Hella's are super expensive once you get into the 100 watts, atleast for just 2 dang lights, imo. Hella has more styles and stuff too online, KC's basically just have the same couple kinds

I'm going to suggest to you the KC Slimlites. I was in the same situation, wanted good lighting but was on a budget. These lights are amazingly bright and I only payed around $150.00 for them. I believe I ordered them off amazon.com. Just something else to look into. I would recommend them to anyone on a budget that wants good lighting.
