If you have a spare under the bed of your truck just use it. If you get a flat in the front use the stock spare in the rear and roll that tire to the front.

Realize that if you have a locker or limited slip in the rear axle it won't like a smaller tire on one side.

Also, no 4x4 use if the small spare is on.

I'd find the cheapest tire and wheel combo of the right height and use it.

It's worked to get me to a tire shop. If your worried about that just find a used 35 with a wheel used on Craigslist. I don't have the room to carry a 35 inch spare between the tool box dog box and cooler my bed is full.

If he's got a select-able locker all he would have to do is keep it unlocked. Limited slip though yes you are correct.

I carry a full size spare and I feel a lot better about it than having the tiny stock spare. That way if I get a flat on a offroading trip I can just change the tire and keep going, I don't want my trip to be ruined just because I got a flat.

This is what I did to be able to carry my full size spare.

Kind of off topic, but does anybody know if a 35 inch tire will fit in the regular, stock spare tire location?

How secure is the spare? I'm looking for something similar but am worried about some ****stick stealing it.

ETA: Zmadams-- the guys at NTB told me a 35x12.50 Trail Grap wouldn't fit underneath.

It is pretty secure. I have two locks that run through the tire and the gate.
