Default its a big step

I would recomend finding someone who has a lifted truck with gears, they will be sure to tell you what went wrong and right.

If you are take your time it will be done right.

Basically once you lift it, kiss the mpg's goodbye! I have 38's and went up to 4:88's to try to get more mpg's and not much luck. I get between 10-12 It seems the only way to retain mpg's is to lift a diesel and keep the stock gears. A guy in my area has a 03 Dodge crew cab with 37's under it and is getting 23 to the gallon with it...

Have you done any mods like timing bump, CAI, exhaust, headers, under drive pulleys, or electric fan? If not you might wanna try those out. There are other guys on here with 9 inch lifts and 38s and they only get 8-10 mpg so it seems like that regearing helped quite a bit. But with the other mods i listed up top a few guys are getting 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway with a 302. But their trucks are only 2wd and not lifted and have stock tires. Even though their trucks are stock, those mods should also make a big difference in mpg and performance.

8" Rize 38X13.50X18 re-geared to 4.56 got about 10mpg. Re-geared again to 4.88 and now get about 12mpg.

I get about 10 city and 12 hwy... Thats what my gauge says anyways so figure a little above. I don't drive nicely though. If I do I can get about 15 or 16 on the hwy on my gauge. Thats with 6" lift and 35" mudds. 4X4 doesn't help my mpg either tho. The new Fords get better MPG than my 04 anyway.

That RIZE kit is good looking though. Good choice

You also have a supercharger so you get less MPG. But the power is sooo worth the MPG loss. LOL.

What did you do with the 4.56s you had?
