Default gas mileage with 8" rize lift and 35's or 37's???

Just curious what you guys with lifted trucks are seeing for gas mileage...ideally the 8" rize...but even a 6" lift and 35's or 37's???

Did you do anything to help bring mileage back? i.e. CAI, TB spacer, exhaust, or Programmer?

Thanks!

Default your motor

If you have a large motor or something with a high output you will get decent G.P.M.s it relly depends on how you drive it.

After you get the lift you may want to get new gears for your truck,it will be the easy to get back what you lost with the left at a price, keeper a lower gear running fast means more gas at high rpm.

Do you drive it on he highway??

Gears hands down winner, with 35's the highest I would go is 4.56's and lower with bigger tires

what do f-150's come with stock?

The higher the gears the lower the gas milage right?
for example 3.73's get better gas milage than 4.10's

Nope not correct. A 4.10 would be considered lower than 3.73 when it comes to gears. And you would get better mileage with the 4.10's and 35's than you would with the 3.73's and 35's. The stock gear ratios (for the most part) are put in by the factory to be the most efficient with the stock tire size and to work best with the motors RPM curve for what you want to do(towing, economy). You put, say, 35's on it with the stock high gears and that puts more work on the motor to turn the heavier rotating mass of the bigger tires. Lower Gears will multiply the torque output, making it possible for the motor to turn the wheels with less work, that way you're not having to floor it to get more power to turn the bigger wheels.

I had a 6 inch lift on a 2 door tahoe and 33's, it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, I was getting 12 mpg city and around 15 mpg hwy. You will like a 6 inch lift.

LOL!!! NO prius for me!!! hahaha...no hybrid!! I own a fast lube!! NOt gonna happen!!!

Primarily highway driving, or back roads, not a lead foot driver by any means...well...not in a truck!!!

I was thinking of adding a set of gears to it, and then adding a chip, and possibly a CAI, and even an exhaust eventually...

what gears to run a set of 35's with an 8" lift??? Still considering just starting off with the levelling kit and an AAL, but still like the look of that new RIZE lift!!!

Quick Reply: gas mileage with 8" rize lift and 35's or 37's???
