FX4 Vs Sport

What year truck are you asking about? (Answer will differ for different years)
With a 14, the FX4 was was a trim level. A "sport" could refer to either an FX2 or an STX. The FX2 was the FX4s 2wd counterpart. Very similar in appearance and available options. The STX was between an XL and XLT, had much more limited options, but did have ptm parts instead of chrome.
For a 2015+, the FX4 went back to being an offroad package instead of a trim level (4x4, better than standard gearing, e-locker, skid plates, and I'm sure some other features). The sport package replaces chrome with ptm and is styled more like the previous FX4. The rest of the options on the truck will depend on the the actual trim level and other packages.

My FX4 is not just a "trim level". Mine has the ELD w/3.73 gears; tow package; Hill Decent Control, shifter in the center console (flow through), yada yada yada. AAMOF, with the upgrades, the only practical things a Raptor has over me is the front cameras, a cool grille (that only looks good on a real Raptor) and a gas-guzzling 6.2L (with less hp/tq)

So this means that having an FX4 in a 2014 is much more specific and descriptive than for a 2015. In other words, 2015+ FX4s will vary more from truck to truck, so there are fewer generalizations that can be made.

I read my comment again and realize it wasn't very clear. I made it sound like the 09-14 FX4 didn't have any offroad features, but that's not what I was trying to say. I've always called XL, XLT, Lariat, etc trim levels, but maybe sub model is more accurate. The point I was trying to make is that the 09-14 FX4 was a stand alone trim level (or sub model, whatever you want to call it) and not simply a package that could be added to an XLT or Lariat, etc.

As far as the ELD goes, I've heard of a few FX4 folks that didn't get the ELD. Bummer huh?

I don't know about the 2015+, but with the previous generation, trailer brakes don't necessarily mean Max Tow. You could have the standard tow package and add the TBC as an option.
Max Tow got you the TBC, higher GVWR, 3.73s, upgraded cooling, upgraded hitch, and tow mirrors (in the US).
