First time lifter
So I bought a new truck and I am really considering a 6" bds lift along with wheels/tires. This will be my first lift aside from leveling kits. I hear people say that you will start having problems once you lift it. What problems will I have with this type of lift. I do realize mpgs will suffer so that's not a concern. Tia

Well bds is a quailty lift, one of the best. The main problems are decreased ride and handling, lower mpgs, won't fit in certain places. Then comes the larger tire problems which cause a loss in power so you may want to regear and decreased stopping distance.

11Ranger pretty much sums it up. I personally am a Rancho and Fabtech fan. I also like rear springs vs. going the cheaper route of blocks. If you will be towing I would consider springs over blocks in the rear. And make sure you get a dropped pitman arm and shocks with the kit. Some places sell you the "Lift" which you would think comes with shocks BUT are extra. Everybody knows you can't use stock shocks with 6" lift but some places still sell them separate!! Regearing is a must almost in my opinion 4.10's for 35 and 4.56's for 35 or 37's depends on what you are doing with the truck. Towing with 35's would go 4.56's. You can use stock gears but will notice the loss in power. Putting gears in it will let the gears do the work vs. the engine.
