factory skids
Ok, maybe a stupid question but what do ya do with the aluminum skid plate and the fiber plate on an ecoboost after lifting 4 of 6"? Do you pitch them or can they go back on? Looked everywhere and can't find this info. Thanks

The factory skid will not fit because of the lowered cross member, but the company of the lift should have skid plates for sale that will fit. Btw the factory skid plate is pretty much useless anyways changed mine with 3/16 steel.

Platinum R.R.
I'm surprised some of you are unhappy with the Factory Skid Plates.
I've had them on my 2001 Off Road Pkg.
2007 FX-4 & 2012 FX-4.
They have saved me many times.
My 2014 lariat did not have them & the Ford dealer thru in a set of ASFIR.
H.D. Aluminum. The 4 plates cover about everything.
I don't know where most of you go off road.
Here in the Colorado High Country Rocks, Peat Bogs and trees blocking trails make it fun. Larger Rocks are the worst.
Like was mentioned above. Any Skid plate is better than no Skid Plate.

I agree any skid plate is better than nothing, but I was disappointed to see that my gas tank skid plate is flimsy plastic though. I haven't looked at the front diff or transfer case skid plates, I hope they are metal though.

While these are on a Raptor, they're the same on a standard F150 as well. This is the OEM transfer case skid versus the RCI .25" aluminum skid.
