not to add more fuel to the fire, but I would change the diff cover to something like this:

it looks cool, has a peep hole to view the fluid, and can easily drain/fill for future purposes

So it just came in and the wonderful UPS man dropped(literaly dropped it, the clunk was from heard from the basement) it at the door and left....havent opened it up yet. Gonna examine it...

I just installed an eaton true trac with 4.1 yukon gears this past weekend in my F150 SCREW 4x4. (9.75" diff) so far so good. no shudder but only 50 miles on it so far, only time will tell. Good luck on your install.

I went with summit racing and got it for $479.99 w/ free shipping. I did check out TAP auto, but maybe i was on the wrong site b/c I couldn't find the truetrac on what i think is their site.

i ordered mine from summit also, they ship so fast when shipping to an overseas military base that i swear i think they have somebody jump on a plane and carry it over
it litteraly took only 5 days to reach yokosuka base in japan from the time i ordered it.kenn

Actually I bought it locally from the auction. Low miles, in beutiful shape. The Japanese buy american cars and trucks as "luxury imports" and then drive them like classic cars. IE: 3~5k miles a year average.
My truck had 45k miles on it when I bought it of which according to the carfax report, 29k miles was by the original owner (a company in the northwest) and then was sold at the aucitons in the states. it then later popped up again in 2009 on carfax with 36k miles when some other american saw it at the tokyo auction, ran a carfax, but did not buy it due to price. I picked it up for 12k with 0 damage and 45k miles as the 3rd owner in japan, fourth owner total.
