Gotcha. I was thinking with the bigger tires, it wouldn't strain as much and get better mpg. I'm glad you pointed that out tho. If the mpg is gonna drop then I'll stay with these gears.

The strain is more related to components. The 3.73 will allow your drivetrain to turn the rolling mass with less effort, taking strain off your transmission etc. when you add larger rubber, there is a break point where the gear ratio will offset some of the inefficiency of larger rolling mass and produces bit better fuel economy, but given what your working with, you will likely not see that

I know I don't have a 2012, but I've been running them on my 04 for about a year and look like they are still new. I love them, aggressive tread, but quiet running down the highway!

How much was you original mileage before the tire upsize? Unless 100% of your driving is highway with grandpa tendencies, a gear swap will help. You'll get better mpg, better performance, and more life out of your drivetrain. Plug your numbers into this calculator...you should look for a 4.10 probably. http://www.therangerstation.com/tech...tioChange.html

With 5.0 stock setup, 245/75R17s, I was getting 18-19 city. Then added front 3in level and BFG A/T 285/70R17s. Dropped to 16-17 city. Then added big bumper, and 315/70R17 Duratracs. since it was still sitting nose high, I added 2" block to rear. Now I'm getting 15 city.

I have 275/65/18s with about 2000 miles on them. I assume they put stock air pressure as the citified place I got the tires didn't say otherwise.

Pros:
- Seem to be wearing pretty good
- Great off road traction, definite difference from the stock tires
- Rides the same as what came on it. I haven't noticed any handling issues.
- Look good

Cons
- Whine a bit more than I was thinking they would. This is only really an issue for me between 40 and 60 mph
- I think my fuel mileage is worse on the highway. I am not 100% sure this is due to the tires or removing the lower air dam. Probably a combination of both.
- They pick up more mud than I was expecting. There is a lot of clay in GA and they pick up a lot when running round. The tires clean out quickly, but puts more mud on the paint than stock tires.
- Like all aggressive tires, they follow lines in the pavement worse than stock tires.
