Default Cutting Tires..... Anyone here have experence?

I recently picked up a set of 35x12.50 Nitto Mud Grapplers for a price I couldn't turn down.... Well the side lugs rub the upper ball joint during the test fit..... I want to cut down the side lugs enough to make enough clearance.... Any words of wisdom and where you got the tool needed?

Check with your local tire dealers.
I worked in tire shops back in the '60s and some had trueing machines. These machines were like a big lathe and could true or trim tires. We used ours mostly to true up out of round recaps. There may be some older shops that still have the trueing machines.
If you can't get them trued, get some wheel spacers. There was a set for sale on here not long ago.

There ya go. Use a 4 or 6" grinder with a coarse wheel on them and when you get done, have em balanced. Will work out fine.

If you don't have access to the proper tool to heat-shave off the rubber (and they are expensive.) A belt sander will yield much more attractive and smoother results than a die grinder.

But I suggest you go with this. Around $60 on the Bay.

Do racecar tires with that thing. Very easy to use just take your time and try your best to keep it even all the way around

If you don't get it even you will get vibration. May or may not balance. I think spacers are the easiest route. Plus you will have to do all 4 when you go to rotate.
