Default Center bearing shim needed for 4"? 2011

2011 Screw 6.5 box 4x4.

Just wondering for those with 6.5' or 157" wheel base trucks that have done a 4" lift did you require drive shaft center bearing shim to bring it back into spec and if so how much?

BDS shim kit is $61 CDN just not sure I need it or not.

Posted this in the 09+ but nobody replied.

Thanks

Are you having a drivesshaft vibration since the lift was installed, or are you covering bases now in preparation of the install, just wondering. If you pick up a shudder/vibe issue, I would start with 1/2" and see how much improvement that makes. Continue with 1/4" increments until the problem is gone. Go through the entire speed range after each shim to make sure you haven't just moved the problem to a different frequency range. I have always made my own shims with steel flat stock and a drill press. You'll also need longer bolts. If they're U.S. bolts use at least grade 5. If metric use at least class 9.8

Thanks for this info. I didn't order the shims but like you said I have no problem being able to make them at work. Was just covering my bases as you said.

Just so everyone who wants to know I did end up putting shims in 3/4" (3) 1/4 x 1 1/2" x 7.5" shims. Started with 1" but had vibration at 80-95 km/hour. Don't feel anything now.
