Default bilstien 5100s top setting, offroad?

Getting a set tomorrow, not putting them on for a bit. Tires on back order. Wanting some real feedback of people doing some wheeling with these cranked up on top setting. Not dune jumping, just some ugly ugly roads.. i know theres lots of threads on these shocks but most of the trucks look like show trucks. Want some real word experience in the back country with these. Any setting and experience would b nice. Thanks. O ya 13 fx4 screw.

Hey man have first hand of this. They aren't t terrible but they definitely will bounce your head off. They only allow for about 3/4-1" of down travel depending in your uca set up. I had rpg uniball ucas on with mine had exactly 1" of down travel so the ride offroad utterly sucked! I'd stick to a lower setting IMO and save some ride quality. Or invest in a bit better set up like some coil overs
Hope this helped

Also i thought these were designed to keep some decent down travel. They have almost another inch of travel compared to stock, dont they?. I was going to go 2.25 frony 2.5 block in rear.

I just installed on my truck (2012 FX4) and getting an alignment today. I guess I'll let you know soon the next camping or hunting trip I have in the mountains. I am a little concerned about ride quality and off road performance; but it was too hard to not put on the top setting when installing. I am also finishing with a 3" block that I'm installing this weekend. With just the front installed it sits nose high now...
