BDS 6" or ICON 3" w/ UCAs?
Howdy All. I am new to the forum and am doing research on lift options for a 2011-2012 F-150. I currently drive a highly modified 04 4Runner. (See Below) I want to build a F-150 that can take me over mountain passes and will be able to get me away from crowds when going camping, hunting, etc.
As I see it so far I have two choices. I am trying to decide between the 6" BDS Coilover kit with 2.5" Fox shocks with 35's or the ICON 3" kit with UCAs and 33's. I know I will get many opinions, but generally which would suit my needs better. Will the 6" kit limit my articulation? I don't need a ton of ground clearence, but good wheel travel is a must. Thanks in advance for the help.

jealous of that 4runner man! looks sweet! and a lift will not limit your articulation, it will actually help it because you get greater clearance between your tires and fenders. the icons will give great articulation if you downsize tires to about 33" so that there is minimal contact with bumpers and fenders that would cause less articulation. but the smaller the tire, the less ground clearance.

I already have a 6" lift but without coilovers yet. So far the kit is performing very well. Keeping in mind that my offroading consist of mostly trails and dunes. I think going 6" with 35" will suit you well, and as time goes by you will want to go even bigger.

Thanks for the compliments on the 4Runner. I've love it, but know that with almost 170k on the clock, it's time to start looking toward the next vehicle.
For the F-150 I would like to add an ADD front bumper, winch, and full steel skid plates, and rock sliders (both from RCI) to the truck. I know the front coilovers can be adjusted for height with the turn collars, anyone running this particular kit with added weight? How much kick out will be added with this lift? Will I need wheel spacers in the rear for the front and rear tires to be evenly spaced?
Thanks!

Get the icon. Way more useable than a simple 6" lift

I've been in this same path as well. I decided to get the 6" because the simple fact of being able to stuff a bit bigger tire under there and use my truck a bit more as an all around fun and work vehicle. Mind you I hunt and play out of my truck as well and I like to be off the ground. So I decided the lift is best for me.
