BDS 4" lift question
Priced out a BDS suspension today. I am no means an expert on lifts and the guys at my local wheels n suspension shop informed me that the 4 inch system does not come with front coilers like the 6 inch system. They told me that I cannot replace my OEM front coilovers with a fox coilover to go with the 4 inch system. This just does not make sense to me, so I am hoping someone who has more lift experience can advise me as to what my options are. Would love to be able to upgrade the fronts with the 4 inch lift.I am not sure I want to pull the trigger on the 6 inch lift for the the fox set up.

You can use the fox 2.5s from the 6" kit it says so in their instructions. Call bds and make sure. You have to take an inch or so of preload out of the 6" lift setting as shipped. I'm running a bds 4" with just the 4" spacer right now. I am not sure what I will upgrade to after the OEM coilovers die. Lots of options.

Go with a 6. More clearance, pretty much the same price and you'll just want to go bigger down the road most likely anyways. I wouldn't waste my time with a 4. I have a 6 now and I am not looking back.

Thx fellas!
I sent an email to bds tech support and they responded quite quickly. They informed me that I could go with the same 2.5 fox shock that is offered on the 6 inch lift. All I would have to do to make it fit would be to back it down .75" and good to go.

I will definitely do that! Will take a couple months to get all the rest of the pieces on my build but am pretty excited about it. I was sitting on the fence between coilover level and the BDS 4". Have to line up some nice wheels n tires now.Something between a -12 to -19 offset.

For a 4 inch lift I'd stay closer to a 5" (0 offset) or 4.5" (-12 offset) backspacing at the very most. You may run into rubbing issues going more aggressive than that. I have 5" backspacing on my 20x9s with 33x12.5s and I've got 2" of tire beyond the fender. Good luck with the build.
