Which Batery?
It's time for a new batter now, but I can't decide which one to get. I've been lookin at the Optima Red Top and the Optima Yellow Top, but couldn't decide which one was for me. I have a couple extra electronics and go off roading (muddin mainly). Any advice on which one to get?
Thanks

i'm not all that fond of either optima batteries unless you need to mount them in a weird position. personally, i'd get an interstate maintenance free battery or some other top brand conventional battery. i've had major bad luck with optimas in the past. i've always had charging issues with them. i hear they're worse than ever now because they were bought out. don't know if that's true cause i don't care that much to find out. good luck.

i personally have had interstates, Ac Delco and Optima Red Top all in my truck. the A/c Delco was stolen so i honestly don't know how it would have done....im still pissed...they didn't steal the almost new 33" BFG A/T tire in the bed but they stole the battery...
the interstate batterys i had crap luck with, both batts i had would have horrible cranking amps. left the lights on for more then 15 minutes, battery was dead.
i currently am running an Optima Red Top and couldn't be happier. its mounted normally in the truck. ive left my radio and lights on for a good hour or 2 and i can still start the truck right up. i have yet to have anything bad happen with this battery and am very satisfied

well, i'm proud that there are folks that have had good results from the optima batteries and if that's the choice you're going to be making, then i'd go to the yellow top because it has more storage for running your electronics. again, good luck and don't forget your jumper cables. ja ja.

I have an optima yellow top and have no complaints. I have a winch though and from what i remember the yellow was better for high load devices. So i dont think you would need that. Id say go for the red top.
